Getting started

What does InstantClips do?

It turns a product link or a set of product photos into a ready-to-test video ad that looks and sounds like your brand: vertical, beat-synced, and sized for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, Meta and Amazon. You do not film, edit or write prompts.

What do I need before I start, and how long does it take?

A product page URL from a supported store, or a few product photos. Basic listing shots, iPhone photos and static images are enough. From there it is minutes, and the video ad appears in the app rather than arriving by email.

Is the first video really free?

Yes. Every new account starts with a credit grant and no credit card is required to use it. The grant arrives once, at signup, and does not refill each month. The pricing page covers what happens when it runs out.

Inputs

Which stores do product links work with?

Shopify, Amazon and most other online stores. The system fetches the public product page and pulls the photos, price and details from it. Nothing is installed into your store and no permissions are granted.

Are Amazon product links supported?

Yes. Paste the listing URL and it is read like any other product page: the gallery, the title, the bullet points and the price. There is a page for Amazon sellers.

Can I upload photos instead, and how good do they need to be?

Yes, directly in the app, and it is the normal route for anyone without a supported store page. Good enough to see the product clearly is the bar. What helps more than image quality is variety: one shot that establishes scale, one detail frame, one of the product in use. PNG, JPG, HEIC, TIFF and WebP all upload.

What if my product page copy is thin?

The page is source material, so a page that says little gives the script little. If the description is a single line, either improve the page first or upload photos and work from those.

Control and output

How much can I control what it makes?

At three levels. Leave everything blank and it drafts the whole plan. Add a one-line note ("mention the winter sale", "hands only, no face", "ASMR") and it is carried through to the video word for word. Or open the plan itself and edit any line, ask for another angle, or clear it and start again.

Can I choose the format, or does it decide?

Either. By default it picks the format that fits the product. The UGC-style formats are UGC post, talking head, creator review, POV and vlog, with fit check, OOTD and try-on haul for clothing. The product formats include hands-on demo, problem and solution, before-and-after, tutorial, ASMR and montage. You can name the format yourself instead, and asking for another angle never repeats the one you just turned down.

Can it make UGC-style videos?

Yes. Ask for a UGC post, a talking head, a creator review, a POV or a vlog, and the video looks like a customer filmed it on their phone. Nobody is filmed: the person and the scene are generated from your product page or photos, so run it as your ad, not as a customer review. The UGC-style videos page shows each format.

Do I see what it is going to make before it makes it?

Yes. The whole plan is on screen before anything is made. You read it, change what you want, and only then generate.

What do I actually get: format, length, resolution?

A vertical 9:16 MP4 you can download. The default is a 20-second 480P video; 720P and 1080P are also available and cost proportionally more credits. The welcome grant renders at 480P only, and any purchase — a pack or the membership — unlocks 720P and 1080P. The pricing page has the current figures.

What language will the voiceover be in?

The language of the market your store serves. It reads your store, works out the market it serves, and matches the voiceover to it, so a store selling into Tanzania and one selling into the UK do not sound the same. English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean all work well; other languages vary, and you are welcome to try one. You can change the target market before you generate.

What if the video is not what I pictured?

Adjust the plan or your note and generate again; the product keeps its saved brand and description, so you are not re-entering anything. Generating again costs credits like any other video, so it pays to read the plan before the first one.

What do the outputs look like?

Vertical MP4s, sorted by product category in the examples library.

Rights and responsibility

Can I use the videos commercially, including in paid ads?

Yes. You can use the videos you create in your own marketing and commercial campaigns, and most of them are made for paid social. Each platform still applies its own advertising policies to any creative you upload, so review a video against the rules of the placement before you put budget behind it.

Who is responsible for what the video says?

You are, as with any creative you publish. The video is built from your product page and your assets, and you download and publish it yourself, so watch it end to end before it runs. That matters most in regulated categories like supplements, beauty and finance.

What happens to the product images I upload?

They are used to create your videos. How your data is handled is governed by the privacy policy, and what you agree to in using the product is in the terms. Both live with the app, where your account and billing are.

Credits, plans and automation

How do credits work, and what happens when they run out?

Credits are the unit a video costs, and how many one uses depends on the resolution and length you export. The welcome grant is one-time and does not renew. When it is gone, buy a one-time credit pack — Starter or Launch — or join the Scale membership for a monthly allowance. Current figures are on the pricing page.

Can I make videos for more than one store or brand?

Yes. Each brand keeps its own name, logo, colours and voice, learned from its store, and every product you add is made in the brand it belongs to. A free account has one brand, any pack purchase raises that to three, and the Scale membership to ten. Custom has no limit.

Can I drive InstantClips from an AI assistant?

Yes. The app runs an MCP server at app.instantclips.ai/mcp, so Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, the Claude app, ChatGPT or any other MCP client can run the same workflow. The tool sequence is written out here. There is a machine-readable description of the product at instantclips.ai/llms.txt and app.instantclips.ai/llms.txt.

Who makes InstantClips, and how do I reach a human?

Instant Studio, Inc. makes it. InstantClips is a product from Instant Studio, the studio that makes video for big brands at scale. The same production, for your store, from a product link. Email [email protected] and a person who works on the product will answer.

We’re a bigger brand and need custom content. Is that InstantClips?

That work exists, and it is done by Instant Studio, the studio behind InstantClips. InstantClips is the product: you paste a link and a finished video ad comes out. When what you need instead is content made to a brief, with managed production and creative direction at campaign volume, talk to Instant Studio directly. You will be working with the team that makes the product.

Something not here? Email [email protected]. For the product step by step, the app has a walkthrough; for what the output looks like, there is the examples library; and for why ads wear out and how many you need, there is the playbook.
